The last week

We also make a daytrip to the Bay of Plenty. We see Waitangi and there is a viewing point called a million dollar view. It really is worth a million dollar I guess. A stunning view over the land and the ocean. The water as blue as ever. We also see the stone store, the oldest store in New Zealand in a stone house. I can’t remember everything we have seen that day or the rest of the week, there was so much to see and to experience.
The last two days we are back in Auckland. We climb mount Eden. On the last day we take the bus into the centre, get out near the harbour. We see a few huge cruise ships, they look like cities, so big. We have a good look around in the main shopping street and buy the last souvenirs before we hop back on the bus. Back home we repack our suitcases for the last time, ready for tomorrow.
We did so many things, we have seen so much. We ate vegetarian, without knowing. We ate gluten free, knowing we did. We had a lot of lovely New Zealand ice-cream, my favourite is still goody gum drops and hokey pokey. We saw a lot of cousins, second cousins and even third cousins and we saw our uncles and aunties.
When we passed customs, the lady behind the desk asked us what we liked best in New Zealand. Our answer was seeing our family again, and second best was seeing a lot of the beautiful country. By the time you read this, we are back home. And maybe, someday, we might plan another journey to the other side of the world, we still haven’t seen everyone and everything. So bye, bye, New Zealand, till next time.
